CLASSROOM
AND COMPUTER CONFIGURATIONS
The EnterTech Project combines
interactive multimedia instruction with individualized
tracking, monitoring and reporting features
enabled by a web-based E-Learning system.
Your classroom must have multimedia-capable
computers and adequate Internet access to
support this dynamic, vivid experiential learning
environment.
Therefore, its important
to ensure that each computer in your classroom
meets the minimum system requirements and
has the proper software configuration.
To ensure proper setup, follow
the directions and step-through installation
process at the EnterTech installation page,
at http://www.entertech.utexas.edu/install.html.
You may require approval or assistance
from your Network Systems Administrator or
other technical staff at your site. But the
process is very simple when using the EnterTech
installation instruction page.
In addition to the computers and
Internet access, you will want to supply each
student with an individual headphone set.
With many students simultaneously playing
multimedia, the cacophony of sounds can be
disruptive to the overall learning experience.
With proper headphones, students can engage
in the computer simulations and also be able
to interact with each other and the instructor
as necessary.
Your classroom also should have
workspace available for the teaming activities.
You may need to reconfigure chairs to accommodate
group meetings, or you may choose to use a
different classroom. But before class begins,
have a plan in mind of how students move from
online activities to offline activities, including
group and individual work.
