EVALUATION
While the computer records student
performance within the simulated work tasks
and decision points, other skills are best
evaluated by the instructor through performance
checklists. In the evaluation section of the
Instructors Guide, youll find
checklists to use for three writing samples,
weekly classroom observations, and team participation
evaluations. You can use these forms for your
note taking, and then transfer your evaluation
marks into the EnterTech database through
your online instructor tools (more about this
in the next section of this tutorial!).
Within the online activities,
students may sometimes intellectualize interpersonal
choices that they are unable to exhibit in
face-to-face interactions. Thats why
its important for you to rate your students
on their interpersonal, communications, self-regulation
and growth skills. Also, the computer does
not have the capacity to assess individual
writing, either in terms of content or grammatical
structure.
You can choose to do a few student
checklists daily or cumulatively at the end
of each modular week. But set aside time regularly
to input your checklists into the EnterTech
database. Your evaluation forms an important
component of the overall assessment of student
knowledge, skills and aptitudes.
The EnterTech Project also contains
online surveys to be used by both instructors
and students pre- and post-training. These
surveys, including a Biographical, Pre-Expectation
and Post-Expectation forms, provide valuable
information and feedback for overall program
evaluation. The surveys are available on the
EnterTech Log-In screen.
Note:
the EnterTech database allows only single
use of each form by each individual student.
The first day of class students complete
the Biographical and Pre-Expectation surveys.
On the last day of class, students complete
the Post-Expectation survey.
