CLASS PROGRESS INFORMATION

In the first column of the table on the Class Info screen, you see each student's user name and number.

Class Info detail

To alter student information or to view it in more detail, click the Student's Name. The Student Options page will appear where you can enter, edit, and view information about that student.

In the second (green) column, you see an indication of whether a lock has halted that student's progress. Locks occur at the end of certain sections to help you pace the entire class together through the lessons. Refer to the EnterTech Instructor Guide for more information about managing locks.

Pie Chart detail

In each of the next eight (blue) columns, you see a representation of the student's progress in completing each of the Eight Learning Areas:

  1. A pie chart, which offers a rough graphical view of the student's progress. It displays the number of mastered tasks in relation to the total number of tasks for the job area.
Note: Clicking on the pie chart will take you to the appropriate student's options page showing a more detailed view of that student's progress.
  2. A level value, which indicates the degree to which the student has mastered the learning area. Levels are 3, 4, and 5 for each performance objective. For more information about levels, see the section below labeled Calculating the Level Average.

Calculating the Level Average

Only the the performance objectives the student has attempted determine the level average. For example, if a student has attempted four of five objectives, then only the four attempted objective levels figure in the average. The system ignores the fifth (un-attempted) objective.

Furthermore, for each objective, the system picks up the highest level the student has achieved. For example, if the student has mastered levels 3 and 4 of an attempted objective, the average will ignore the 3, and use only the 4 for that objective.

These pie charts change automatically as the student progresses through the instruction, or when you make changes manually to the student's record. The computer-based assessments are automatically logged into the student record as the student completes online tasks. But you must manually enter your assessments of offline activities - including the Weekly Checklists, Team Checklists and Writing Checklists - for an accurate profile of student progress.

For more information on Instructor assessments, see Section III of the EnterTech Instructor Guide.
