EnterTech instruction is set
within the context of a high-tech manufacturing
workplace. Within the computer-simulated
work environment, students move through
the virtual EnterTech company, encountering
virtual co-workers and supervisors, completing
simulated work tasks, and making decisions
involving workplace ethics, teaming and
company policies. EnterTech characters
deliver information directly to learners.
Videos provide company training on policies
and procedures such as safety and quality
control. Virtual co-workers tutor the
students in understanding and completing
specific job tasks.
Offline of the computer, students
should interact as co-workers, providing
peer mentoring and teaming in project-based
learning activities that tie back into
the computer simulated experiences. Workbook
exercises, personal planning aids, and
remediation materials reinforce the computer-based
learning.
The instructor is vital to
setting the tone of the learning experience
and keeping instruction within this work-based
framework. You act as the CEO, Front-Line
Supervisor, On-the-Job Mentor, and Employee
Assistance Program Counselor!
EnterTech provides a
fictitious work context for learning and
you make the learning experience real
within your classroom.
