As students are working on
tasks, they experience interruptions from
various coworkers. These natural disruptions
occur dozens of times a day in every work
setting. Within the EnterTech simulation,
a situation is presented to the learner
for problem-solving, with the question:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
A multiple-choice selection
of responses is provided. Each selection
contains different possible actions. And,
each action has its own consequences,
including follow-up actions and responses.
The learner must combine problem-solving
and social skills while adhering to company
policy and maintaining the current level
of productivity. Like life, it can be
tricky decisions.
However, EnterTech decision
points allow for trial-and-error; if a
student is dissatisfied with an outcome,
then they can replay the exercise with
different choices. If only life were really
like this!
Make time at the end of each
instructional day for group discussion
with students about their interactions
with characters within the virtual environment.
Debrief about tasks, decision points and
problem-solving scenarios encountered
in the virtual environment.
