STUDENT SUPPORTS

While most people experience challenges in balancing the responsibilities of family and of work, the EnterTech targeted learners tend to have more issues; issues endemic to unemployment or underemployment. EnterTech learners may require a level of support — both formal and informal — to cope with situational barriers.

EnterTech’s instructional activities encourage individuals to problem-solve actively, to create multiple solutions to problems, and to create support networks of co-workers, family, and friends.

But students may need direct assistance connecting to the necessary resources within their community, such as centralized case management services as offered by a one-stop center career counselor, DHS caseworker or Communities In School caseworker, for example.

Be ready to share community agency names and numbers. Encourage participants to share information with each other about resources that can help others succeed.
